Diwali will be much merrier for central government employees as the minimum pay could be increased from Rs 18,000 to Rs 21,000 under the 7th Pay Commission. The meeting of the National Anomaly Committee is expected to be held before the end of October, according to reports by OneIndia.com.

The meeting was earlier scheduled to take place on October 7 but was postponed. It was also reported that the hike in minimum pay was expected to go up from Rs 18,000 to Rs 21,000. Officials are of the belief that the minimum salary should be Rs 21,000.





It further said that the central government employees that after the 17% hike in salaries, the fitment factor will also be raised from 2.57 times to 3 times. The authorities are expected to take the decision soon.

The National Anomaly Committee was formed in September to look into various pay related issues that was arising out of the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission’s recommendations.

The 22-member panel is being headed by the Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and has both officials and staff as members.




The order issued by the department said that it has been decided to set up the anomaly committee of the National Council (Joint Consultative Machinery) consisting of representatives of the official side and the staff any anomalies arising out of the implementation of the Pay Commission’s recommendations.

The government’s side has officials such as the Members (Staff) Railway Board, secretaries of Department of Telecommunications and Department of Posts, as its members.

It also has the Financial Adviser, Defence Ministry, two joint secretaries from DoPT and another Joint Secretary (Personnel) in the Finance Ministry as part of the panel.

The government had accepted most of the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission to be implemented from January 1, 2016.
